Go into the hotels because each one has it's own theme. The Bellagio fountains aren't to be missed. The Big bus, hop on and off was a good way to get around. If you don't gamble, take the tours to Red Rock, Mt.
Charleston, etc. They were so interesting and the guides were knowledgeable and nice. For a quick trip, 3 or 4 full days is enough. Sadly, we didn't get to any shows, but still had a great time.
I stayed about 24 hours. That was enough to see some of the cool theming in the hotels, and eat some tasty things. If you're not into smoking, gambling, and drinking, there's not a lot here for you.
I wouldn't want to vacation with my kids here, or stay longer than a day or so myself. Theres so much to see and do in Las Vegas. Explore all the hotels, theres so many hidden gems and things to see and do. We were there for a family wedding. Both the bride and groom live in Las Vegas. The wedding was actually at a private home and didn't take advantage of the usual Las Vegas glitz. I We did walk on the strip a bit and it is very exciting.
We went to Van Gough exhibit and it was wonderful. I'm not into gambling or slot machines and found the noise in the casinos a little off putting.

My wife and I always use Las Vegas as our base point when we go west Coast. Not only hotels are affordable , selection of food are phenomenal.
Las Vegas serves as our base when we travel to national park nearby , esp. Arizona , Utah and Idaho. We always go back to Las Vegas to rest and unwind after hiking , canoeing and driving. I love going to Lake Meade. Las Vegas…. Uber and taxi are easy and in abundance. To begin with I love the fact that they offer Texting communtication. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. The rooms have everything we needed. They have a night club on the weekends which can be loud so if noise bothers you then you might request a room away from the club, other than that we love it.
By the way I have to mention that the girl at the front desk Alexis is very kind and has excellent customer service skills! I love staying here, my favorite and the best in Las Vegas. Very relaxing hotel adjacent to Fremont street, and maintains a true vintage Las Vegas feel. All employees and the front desk are very accommodating, hospitable, and respectful.
I have stayed here many times and would recommend this hotel to anyone vacationing or prolonging their stay in Las Vegas.
