I love the concept of being tested for speed and accuracy in the assignments. Pros Academically inclined, always on your toes no slack time. Cons Stressful when busy students get to come whenever they want. Pays so little.

Training on how to teach is minimal. During a session, students are expected to finish their packets in time. I failed at this. There was an effort at coaching that did not work for me.

I felt scared and sad for the students who regularly chided if they were slow. There was more negative reinforcement than positive or rewarding of behavior. From the time I came in, though I tried my hardest, I was personally treated with disgust. The training always felt ineffective. Not many chances to learn how to improve. After a few months, I was fired without clear notice that I would be. I love the idea of teaching children and even assisting them in memorization of foundational skills.
