Katie, a Chicago native, started playing club volleyball herself in 6th grade and played all the way through high school, so she is extremely familiar with what it takes to win and play competitive volleyball.
Katie instills confidence in her athletes through encouraging them constantly to strive for their best and constantly reviewing personal and team goals. As a daughter of a parent in education for 35 years, she learned lessons about teaching and mentoring from her mom. Desire goes hand in hand with competitiveness and the ability, regardless of the circumstance you face, to never quit. Desire keeps an athlete hungry and motivates an athlete to continue down the path for success.
I find desire to be more pertinent and directly correlated to success than talent. Athletes that have the innate desire to improve are long-term goal oriented and are natural competitors. Desire helps athletes hold themselves accountable for their actions and effort put forth in training sessions, tournaments, practice, etc.
At the end of the day, I want to be around athletes with the desire to progress and the desire to win. Katie graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in public relations and Spanish and loves her sooners! She and her husband, Damir, live in Lewisville and play recreational volleyball year round.
Dana Hilzendager dhilzendager sportsplexvv. She played volleyball at Red Oak High School and earned several district awards. She is now a junior at UT Dallas where she plays volleyball and has earned numerous conference, regional, and national awards.

She is from Missouri, which is where she started and played most of her life. Hope played volleyball through High School, and went with her team to state and won 2 of the 4 years. She then received a scholarship to a Jr. College where she played for 2 years and was All American. After that she was awarded a scholarship to University of Tennessee, Chattanooga.
She has 3 children, 2 are girls. When they were old enough to play, Hope started coaching at their Jr. High School, where she coached for 8 years, and in the off season coached their Club Teams. Randi Mancuso rmancuso sportsplexvv. She graduated from Paris High School with honors and is now on academic scholarship at the University of Texas at Dallas. Randi is double majoring in Business Administration and Marketing and hopes to be able to break into a Sports Marketing career.
After high school Randi hoped to extend her volleyball career to the college level. Unfortunately, she herniated two lower disks in her back preventing her from playing for the UTD team.
However, Randi does play recreational volleyball for the intramural leagues and any other opportunity she gets. Before moving to Dallas Randi coached camps in Paris for several summers then became an assistant coach for Excel Club Volleyball in Plano.

Jessica continued with only Sportsplex the following year and has been here ever since coaching ages 11's, 12's, 13's, and 14's in summer camps, clinics, private lessons and leagues spring and summer. This past August Jessica started coaching the 8th grade volleyball team at Episcopal School of Dallas.

Krissy was captain for two years, All-Division twice, offensive and defensive division player of the week, and was named to the Distinguished Scholar Athlete Team.
